Hi all! My name is Caitlyn and I am the style blogger behind howdoyouwearthat.com and @howdoyouwearthat on Instagram. I am based in Jersey City, NJ and I am so excited to share that I attended New York Fashion Week and the Badgley Mischka SS19 show on behalf of Papyrus!
For those of you who are unfamiliar, Papyrus is back for their 13th season as an official sponsor of New York Fashion Week! The adorable (and convenient) Café by Papyrus is located in the center of it all, offering fashion-inspired greeting cards, compliment cards, and sweet treats to showgoers. You can see more of Papyrus’ fashion-forward cards here.
During the week, Papyrus has enlisted a haiku poet to create custom haikus for attendees to keep for themselves or send to others, and an origami artist to create custom fashion fortunes. Each of these cute and interactive programs are designed to bring beautiful expressions to life at NYFW and beyond.
With that being said, every year I look forward to seeing what Papyrus ends up showcasing at NYFW! Seeing The Café and taking in the experience of attending the Badgley Mischka show proved that they keep outdoing themselves with such a fabulous (and embellished) fashion week experience.
As soon as I walked into Spring Studios, where a majority of the shows take place and where The Café by Papyrus is located, I pretty much felt like Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in The City. I grabbed a coffee at the café and headed into the show space that felt like an escape from NYC in the best possible way! It is almost like I was transported into a secret mystical garden for afternoon tea (or champagne, in this case). There were white blossom trees and beautiful floral treatments that were carefully crafted out of paper that filled the entire room.
The atmosphere mixed with the intricate detailing of the floral gowns was absolutely stunning! My favorite look of the show was this floral pant suit – I loved how there was a mix of feminine and masculine details, and it fit the space so well! The best part, as always, was the finale. For the 30th anniversary of Badgley Mischka, confetti fell from the ceiling right after the last model walked down the runway. It was a magical moment. Bravo!
