As soon as you are engaged - Share the news with your loved ones.
- Begin preparing the guest list for your special day.
- Choose your bridal party and groomsmen. A great way to ask for this honor is with a personalized card or gift.
12 Months Before - Choose the location for your ceremony and reception. If there are popular wedding spots in your area you may want to do this as soon as you become engaged to secure the venue on your desired date.
- Prepare your “final” guest list to ensure the venue can support the number of guests for your event.
- Order personalized stationery for the bride and groom-to-be. The bride should have her own stationery for shower gifts. The bride and groom-to-be should write joint thank you notes for engagement or congratulatory gifts.
6 – 9 Months Before - Mail your Save-the-Date announcements to alert those traveling from out of town of your wedding date or if your event is on or near a holiday weekend.
- Visit your local Papyrus to start looking for the perfect invitation for your special day.
4 – 6 Months Before - Place your order for invitation trousseau invitation, response card, reception card, map/direction card. Remember, it can take up to 4 weeks for production on your order.
- Pre-shop our selection of wedding favors.
- Pre-shop our selection of wedding guestbooks, pillows, pens, candles, tabletop décor.
- Reserve time with a calligrapher. If you’ve utilized our “envelopes ahead” service, send your envelopes to your calligrapher to start the addressing process.
2 - 3 Months Before - Your invitation trousseau is finished…send the components to the calligrapher along with your guest list.
- Work with one of our Papyrus Custom Printing Experts to design the perfect wedding program, menu cards, table cards and placecards.
- Now that you’ve had time to browse and pre-shop, come back to your local Papyrus and place your order for favors.
- Purchase gifts for your attendants and parents of the bride and groom. Personalized stationery makes a great gift!
- Visit your local Papyrus to purchase guestbook, pen, wedding pillow, candles, and tabletop décor.
1 – 2 Months Before - Mail your invitations 6 – 8 weeks prior to your event.
- Send thank you notes for early wedding gifts and shower gifts.
2 – 4 Weeks Before - Send out your Rehearsal Dinner invitations.
- Responses from your guests should be received. Start compiling your final guest list based on the responses received. We recommend you pad that number by a minimum of 10% for those that may have forgotten to respond or responses lost in the mail.
- Finalize seating arrangement and complete placecards.
- Assemble your wedding favors.
- Wrap the gifts for the bridal party, groomsmen and both sets of parents. Be sure to include a personal hand-written note of thanks.
1 – 2 Weeks Before - Finalize seating arrangement and complete escort or placecards. If you plan on sending your placecards to a calligrapher to complete we recommend sending the list 2 – 4 weeks prior.
- Create gift baskets along with a welcome letter for your out of town guests. This is a perfect way to thank them for making the journey to participate in your special day.
After the Wedding - Mail your announcements to friends and family members that were not present at your ceremony…these can be mailed the day after the ceremony and up to a year after the ceremony.
- Write and mail your thank you notes…traditionally, this is personalized with the bride’s name, however it is completely acceptable to have both the bride and groom’s name or monogram printed. Additionally, it is also acceptable to have the hand-written note signed with both the bride and groom’s name.
